Everyone is welcome to come along to the first ever “Your Health, Your NHS” event

The free drop-in event is being held in Guildhall Square. There will be lots to see and do, for anyone who wants to know more about how healthy they are, or how they can live more healthily and feel better.

The free Your Health, Your NHS event will offer people the chance to take health checks such as blood pressure tests, and to learn much more about all of the support services and advice which is available across the city. That information will relate to both mental and physical health, and support for people caring for a loved one.

Some of the activities on offer include:

– A chance to try the ‘make a smoothie’ bike
– Talk to a paramedic, or many other frontline health staff
– Dental check-ups
– A chance to talk to city GPs about primary care
– Get the best possible advice about healthy eating, smoking, and alcohol

The Your Health, Your NHS event will run between 11am-5.30pm on Wednesday 10th June 2015, in the heart of the city. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along to join dozens of teams from across the NHS, social care, and voluntary sectors. Whether you might want to quickly find out a bit more about your own health, talk with the teams, or just to take a look around, we hope to see you.

The event is being organised by NHS Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group, alongside Portsmouth City Council and Healthwatch Portsmouth.
